Therapeutic Massage Treatment

Massage Therapy includes the assessment and treatment of soft tissue and joints of the body to prevent and treat dysfunction, relieve pain and increase a feeling of wellbeing.

I use different techniques depending on your body’s issues and your goals. Some techniques may include very light, gentle and soothing techniques, facilitated active and passive stretches, deep tissue massage, myofascial release (MFR) and trigger point therapy to name a few.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Massage

In a short time, your body is changing both physically and hormonally to grow and accommodate your little one.

Massage during this time can be both therapeutic, by treating your particular body’s issues, and for relaxation.

Special care for the safety of you and your baby and for your comfort are taken, so you can relax and continue your body’s work of growing your baby.

Massage Therapy for Children

Some children prefer to have a relaxation massage for the enjoyment of it. Other possibilities are to help soothe muscles and growing pains or helping cope with stresses in a young person’s life.

An important component of my treatment is to help build trust, confidence and comfort for a child to feel empowered to express their needs and preferences, skills which they may continue to use throughout their lives.

Massage Therapy for Youth

Supporting youth as they deal with the particular issues of this time in their lives with massage therapy. Reducing muscle tension, tension headaches, supporting recovery from injuries including athletics, dance and more.

Massage therapy can be used as a tool to help aid in stress reduction and increasing the feeling of relaxation.

Massage Therapy for Older Adults

Massage can be a vital part of increasing the feeling of wellbeing for older adults. Massage can help increase local circulation, soothe symptoms of osteoarthritis, help to increase mobility, reduce discomfort or pain, and treat the symptoms of many other conditions as well.

Infant Massage Instruction for Parents

Massaging your baby is not only a physical experience for you both but an emotional one as well. Touch is an essential component in the development of your baby. Since the relationship is growing between you and your baby, my goal is to show you techniques you can use to massage your baby.

Palliative Care Massage and Instruction for Loved Ones

It is a poignant time in the life of a person receiving palliative care. It is also a very special time in the life of those who love them. Treatment and/or instruction, is around increasing relaxation, avoiding bed sores, decreasing discomfort or pain, aiding to increase comfortable breathing and other supports as well. Touch alone can help to calm, reduce and soothe pain and increase the feeling of comfort. Anyone can massage and anyone can learn some specific techniques to help a loved one. Let me teach loved ones how. Please inquire about the possibility of a home visit.
